Cosmetic Tattooing Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions before booking. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read and accepted these conditions.

CONSULTATION AND CLIENT APPROVAL

A consultation is included as part of every cosmetic tattoo treatment appointment. During this time, Juliette will discuss your desired result, assess your suitability and recommend an appropriate shape, colour and technique.

The proposed shape, placement and colour will be discussed with you and approved before treatment begins. You will also be required to complete the relevant health and consent forms.

A separate consultation appointment may be booked before committing to treatment for a fee of $50.

You must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, skin conditions, previous cosmetic tattooing, tattoo removal or tendency to develop abnormal scarring.

Clients must be at least 18 years old and must not be under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs at the time of treatment.

RESULTS, FADING AND MAINTENANCE

Cosmetic tattooing is performed with professional care. However, every person’s skin heals and retains pigment differently, so exact results and longevity cannot be guaranteed.

Pigment retention may be affected by skin type, age, health, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare products, natural undertones, previous tattooing, scar tissue and aftercare.

The treated area will initially appear darker and more defined. The colour will soften during healing, and the final result may take approximately four weeks to develop.

Cosmetic tattooing fades gradually. Some clients retain pigment for several years, while others may experience noticeable fading within 12 months. Normal fading does not mean the treatment was performed incorrectly and does not entitle the client to a free treatment or refund.

A colour boost treatment is normally recommended every 12 to 18 months to maintain colour and definition.

PERFECTING TREATMENTS AND PIGMENT RETENTION

Uneven or patchy pigment retention may occur during the initial healing process. This is why a perfecting treatment is commonly recommended.

Perfecting treatments are normally completed between 4 and 8 weeks after brow or eyeliner tattooing and between 8 and 12 weeks after lip blush tattooing.

Perfecting treatments are charged separately at the current price shown on the Pricing page. Occasionally, an additional treatment may be required because of individual healing or pigment retention.

Scar tissue and previously tattooed skin can retain pigment unevenly. Results over these areas cannot be guaranteed.

RISKS AND AFTERCARE

Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, dryness, flaking, itching or crusting may occur following treatment.

Although every care is taken, cosmetic tattooing carries potential risks, including infection, allergic reaction, scarring, colour changes, uneven retention and pigment migration.

You must follow the aftercare instructions provided. Picking, scratching or interfering with the healing skin can affect the result and increase the risk of infection or scarring.

We cannot be responsible for pigment loss or healing complications caused by failure to follow the supplied aftercare instructions or disclose relevant health information.

BOOKINGS, CANCELLATIONS AND DEPOSITS

A $100 deposit is required to secure each treatment appointment. The deposit is applied towards the cost of the booked treatment.

At least 48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. When sufficient notice is provided, the deposit may be transferred once to another appointment.

Deposits will be retained when an appointment is cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours, when a client does not attend, or when a client arrives too late for the treatment to be completed safely.

Clients who miss appointments or repeatedly cancel may be required to pay in full before booking another appointment.

If we cancel an appointment and cannot provide a suitable alternative, the deposit may be transferred, credited or refunded.

COMPLETED TREATMENTS AND REFUNDS

Cosmetic tattooing is a personalised service. Once a treatment has been completed, refunds are not provided for a change of mind about an approved shape, colour or style, normal fading, individual pigment retention or the need for a perfecting treatment.

If you have concerns about your treatment, please contact us promptly so the healed result can be assessed before seeking correction elsewhere.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits your rights under applicable New Zealand consumer law.

PHOTOGRAPHS AND PRIVACY

Before and after photographs may be taken for treatment planning and clinical records.

Photographs may also be used on the Perfection Enhanced website, social media pages and marketing material where the client has provided permission through the consultation and consent form.

Personal information and treatment photographs will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
